though I'm Not really sure why. However, if the clock in your computer starts running fast or slow or not at all, major issue's can occur. As in Oooops! Dang! Ah, Geez!.. Computers are equipment and as we all know, equipment Doesn't last forever.
Even the NIST Internet Time servers have problems and changes. So when they have Important Information they do this in Red..

The way I understand the synchronization is that when your computer is online, the time thingie synchronizes. I have a laptop. So, I'm don't have the ethernet (I think that's right) plugged in all the time. Soooo, it's possible that the clock gets out of whack. The other causes are the clock battery called a CMOS. Oh yes, those little batteries for clocks..are in a computer. They are usually good for 4-5 years but with My luck, probably less. sighhhh...
Another suggestion is doing a 'clean boot', & update the BIOS...something more for me to learn which means I go to PC World to find out what the heck any of the Techie's words mean. They usually have the basics. :)

My clock has been doing the fast thing once in awhile. One thing I've done is change the NIST to the second one listed. Maybe that will help. I'll see but for tonight I had one of these...(cue the Creepy Music)

The blue screen stayed like for three seconds, so of Course I didn't get to read the Long message & my computer shutdown. Now it's working just fine. It rebooted just fine. Weird.
